Since 2000, April 26 has marked World Intellectual Property Day, established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to raise awareness and appreciation of the rights that support innovation and creativity.
🏟️ Sport at the heart of the 2026 edition
This year, WIPO is putting the spotlight on sport as a tremendous arena for innovation. This theme highlights the essential role of intellectual property in the development of cutting-edge sports technologies, innovative equipment, iconic brands, and performances that bring together enthusiasts around the world.
🚀 When IP boosts performance
This day is also an opportunity to discover how inventors, entrepreneurs, and creators in the sports sector leverage intellectual property rights to protect their innovations. WIPO invites everyone to take part in the many initiatives and campaigns organized worldwide, or even to launch their own. As every year, it is also possible to enter the Youth Video Competition.
