After obtaining her PhD in Energetics and Heat Transfers from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, Manqi ZHU pursued a diversified career in academic-industrial research. With over eight years of experience in Europe and North America, at Sandia National Laboratories (USA), CERFACS (France), and the University of Sherbrooke (Canada), she worked on both public and private projects, including the European project IMPROOF and industrial collaborations with TOTAL (France) and Mecanum Inc. (Canada). Her work focused on the performance of numerical simulations, particularly the optimisation of steam cracking tubes and the reduction of jet flow noise, thereby acquiring solid expertise in mechanical and fluid engineering, physics, thermodynamics, acoustics, and related fields.
She began her career as a patent engineer in 2022 with an IP firm based in Toulouse. In 2023, she joined LLR, where she focuses on drafting and filing patent applications, monitoring grant procedures in France and abroad, and providing various consultations, including freedom-to-operate studies and patentability analyses.
Manqi is trilingual (English, Chinese, and French) and works with both national and international clients.
Manqi’s primary expertise lies in mechanics, physics, and electronics, with a particular focus on automotive components, waste containers, and medical devices.
