After studying medicinal chemistry and traditional Chinese medicine, Mangen Pan obtained a double qualification as patent professional representative and attorney in China.
Mangen Pan started his career in a company specialised in life sciences at Beijing where he acted as technical director, then industrial property director. In 2008, he decided to specialise in industrial property to work as patent attorney in several Chinese and American firms.
During his career, Mangen Pan has dealt with numerous aspects of industrial property in life sciences and biotechnologies, and is familiar with inventions in the pharmaceutical/cosmetic fields related to molecular biology and genetics, as well as to chemical and non-chemical therapeutics.
He drafts and files invention patent applications and monitors grant procedures in China and other countries or regions (especially Europe, France, the United States, Japan and South Korea). Mangen Pan also conducts freedom-to-operate studies. Specialised in the processing of patent applications, re-examination and invalidity procedures, patent infringement analyses and intellectual property litigations, especially in the fields of medicine, chemistry and biochemistry, Mangen Pan has taken part in several legal proceedings regarding patents, especially infringement and invalidation legal proceedings. He is also an expert in patent evaluation and pre-litigation analysis.
